[English text below] Nyoman Popo Priyatna Danes atau Popo Danes lahir di Bali pada 1964. Ia memberikan banyak kontribusi dalam perkembangan arsitektur kontemporer di tanah kelahirannya. Ia menyelesaikan pendidikan arsitektur di Universitas Udayana, Bali (1991), dan menerima gelar Master of Architecture dengan spesialisasi Ethnic Study of Built Environment dari universitas yang sama. Pada bulan April hingga Juni 1992, ia tergabung dalam program Rotary Study Exchange di Belanda, sebelum akhirnya mendirikan biro arsitektur sendiri tahun 1993 yang bernama Popo Danes Architects.
Popo Danes adalah penggagas The Wisnu Fondation (1993-2000), serta chairman pada Komite Desain PT Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation-ITDC (2011–2018). Sejak 2012, ia pun bertindak sebagai Honorary Consul of The Republic of Tunisia to Bali.
Kontribusi lain yang diberikan Popo Danes untuk arsitektur adalah melalui publikasi buku, salah satunya adalah New Regionalism in Bali Architecture (2011). Selain itu, ia juga menyelenggarakan forum-forum diskusi, seperti Architects Under Big 3 (AUB3) dan Architecture For Kids (AFK).
Penggunaan langgam arsitektur tradisional Bali dan material lokal, kepedulian pada aspek ekologis, serta pengolahan spasial yang menyesuaikan dengan konteks sekitarnya, menjadi landasan bagi karya Popo Danes Architects. Sebaran proyeknya tidak hanya di Bali, juga di kota lain di Indonesia, bahkan di negeri lain. Contoh karya mereka yang beralamat di Bali yaitu Natura Resort & Spa, Ubud Hanging Gardens, Holiday Inn Resort Baruna, L Hotel & Resort, Kaba-Kaba Estate, Ubud Yoga Centre, dan Ngiring Ngewedang. Karya-karya yang tersebar di kota lain contohnya Novotel Island Retreat,Singapore Strait, Nirup Island, Batam, Kepulauan Riau, Bandung Botanica, Jawa Barat dan Yenmioren Resort, Raja Ampat,Papua. Adapun Filipina, Thailand, India, Maladewa dan Dubai, UEA, adalah lokasi proyek mereka di luar negeri.

Sejumlah pameran pernah menampilkan karya mereka, seperti ICONIC Architecture pada ajang 61st FIABCI World Congress dan di World Town Planning Day pada Konferensi Smart Green City Planning, keduanya di Bali, 2010. Selain itu, mereka juga terlibat dalam Pameran Segar, Jakarta (2015), Jakarta Architecture Triennale, Jakarta (2015) dan Bridging The Gap and Promoting Global Partnership pada ajang Bali Clean Energy Forum, Bali (2016), Indonesian Architects Week Seoul (IAWS) 2017, Korea Selatan, Pameran Serasi, Bali (2018) dan IAI Awards, Bandung (2018). Adapun, proyek Lelewatu Resort, Sumba Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur, pernah ditampilkan di London Exhibition (2017).
Nyoman Popo Priyatna Danes or Popo Danes was born in Bali (1964). He was greatly contributed to the development of contemporary architecture in his motherland. He completed his architectural education and achieved a Master of Architecture specializing in Ethnic Study of Built Environment from Udayana University, Bali. From April to June 1992, he joined the Rotary Study Exchange program in the Netherlands, before finally establishing his own architecture firm, Popo Danes Architects, in 1993.
He is one of the initiators of The Wisnu Fondation (1993-2000), also a chairman of the Design Committee of PT Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation-ITDC (2011–2018). Since 2012, he has served as Honorary Consul of The Republic of Tunisia to Bali.
Another contribution by Popo Danes for architecture is through book publications, one of which is New Regionalism in Bali Architecture (2011). He also held architectural discussion forums, such as Architects Under Big 3 (AUB3) and Architecture For Kids (AFK).
The use of traditional Balinese architectural styles and local material, concern for ecological aspects, and spatial processing that adapts to the surrounding context, is the design fundamental of Popo Danes Architects. The project distribution is not only in Bali, but also in other cities in Indonesia, even in other countries. Some of their Bali-based projects are Natura Resort & Spa, Ubud Hanging Gardens, Holiday Inn Resort Baruna, L Hotel & Resort, Kaba-Kaba Estate, Ubud Yoga Center, and Ngiring Ngewedang. Several of their projects that spread in other cities are Novotel Island Retreat, Singapore Strait, Nirup Island, Batam, Riau Islands, Bandung Botanica, West Java, and Yenmioren Resort, Raja Ampat, Papua. The locations of their abroad projects include the Philippines, Thailand, India, Maldives, and Dubai, UAE.
