[English text below] Marriot Weihai Resort and Residences yang berada di tepi pantai Teluk Kowloon ini akan menghadirkan sense of place yang berbeda. Pendekatan unik dilakukan pada tapak dengan melakukan transformasi lanskap. Arsitek mengolah area lanskap dengan menambahkan pepohonan yang cukup banyak sehingga pengunjung akan merasakan peralihan suasana dari pinggir pantai menjadi hutan dan perbukitan saat memasuki area tapak.

Untuk menyatukan bangunan dengan alam di sekitarnya, dilakukan pula kombinasi gaya kontemporer dan garis-garis indah yang secara harmonis terhubung dengan pemandangan pesisir pantai di Weihai. Konsep utama gubahan bentuk pada berbagai komponen bangunan diambil dari interpretasi erosi dengan penggunaan dinding batu untuk memberikan kesan permanen dan solid. Bentuk atap juga dibuat dengan bentuk yang lebih lembut dan cair sehingga terlihat mengapung di atas. Bentuk gundukan pasir yang bergeser dan bergerak mengikuti angin menuju teluk, menjadi inspirasi utama dari bentuk atap.

Marriot Weihai Resort and Residences juga menggunakan elemen air agar tetap selaras dengan pantai di sekitarnya. Terdapat beberapa air mancur pada bangunan serta kolam-kolam yang dapat digunakan pengunjung sambil menikmati pemandangan pantai.

Fasilitas lainnya yang disediakan yaitu adanya sebuah bangunan dengan bentuk atap seperti kertas yang terlipat-lipat. Bangunan yang didominasi kaca ini dapat digunakan untuk keperluan berbagai acara, seperti dapat digunakan untuk acara pernikahan.

Located on the beachfront of Kowloon Bay, Marriot Weihai Resort and Residences will create a different sense of place. A unique approach is taken by transforming the landscape. The architect cultivates the landscape by adding enough trees so that visitors will feel the atmosphere transition from the beach into a forest and rolling hills while entering the site.

To unite the building with its natural environments, a combination of contemporary and elegant lines will harmoniously connect with the coastal backdrop of Weihai. The main concept of the building’s composition and various components in the buildings are taken from the interpretation of erosion and stonewalls – to give a sense of permanence and solidity. The roof form is made with a softer and more liquid shape so that the roof will look like floating above. The sand dunes that shift and move towards the bay are the main inspiration for the roof forms.

Marriot Weihai Resort and Residences also uses the water element to create harmony with the surrounding beach. There are several fountains as well as swimming pools that visitors can use while enjoying the beach view. Another facility provided is the existence of a building with a unique roof form, like folded paper. This glass-dominated building can be used for events, such as weddings.

Experiencing the atmosphere of the beach, forest, and hills in one location will be an unforgettable experience for visitors. Also, the combination of unique forms and functions in its building will enhance the attractive point of Marriot Weihai Resort and Residences. (jeu)
