WAF 2018 Day 2 Winners Announced, WOHA Wins Commercial Mixed-use Projects
The World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2018 Day 2 Winners is released and WOHA’s Kampung Admiralty is awarded as the Winner of Commercial Mixed-Use Projects.
By bringing the young and old Singaporeans to live together in one place, Kampung Admiralty is a mixed-use building, known as the very first integrated public facility to create an inter-generational bonding within its users. It is built in 0.9 Ha land with the height limit of 45 meter. Optimizing the land use, WOHA stacks the idea of Kampung (village) vertically by layering the Community Plaza, Medical Center, and Community Park with senior apartments from the ground plane to the building top. Showered with greeneries, the elevated village garden on its top enriches the neighborhood living quality by inviting them to come out interact with others. Its diversity of cross-programming is believed to improve residents’ living quality and promote healing as well.
